London, UK, 17th July 2023 - Fragrance Factory Ltd (FFL), one of the leading fragrance and skincare distributors covering the UK, Eire and the Channel Islands are announcing today that their two founders and directors, Howard Shaughnessy and Georges Pharand will be retiring at the end of the 2023 after 28 successful years in the fragrance industry. In a joint statement, Howard and Georges said: “This is a bittersweet moment for us. Although we are looking forward to enjoying a well-earned retirement, we are sad to be leaving the industry that brought us so much success over the years, but we are so proud of what we have achieved. We would like to thank all our suppliers, retail partners and brand owners, past and present, but especially Mavive SpA (Mavive) who have been a key partner of ours for 12 years. Above all, we would like to thank our loyal and dedicated staff, some of whom have been with us since the very early years, and who have been a key to our success. It has been the most amazing journey for us both”.
FFL will continue to distribute its current brands including Police, Anna Sui, Jasper Conran, Nesti Dante, Evian and Esteban until the end of 2023 after which the Company will be closed down.
Mavive are also announcing that they will be creating a new entity in the UK and will take over direct responsibility to distribute Police fragrances through their new and wholly owned subsidiary called Vidal Fragrances Limited (VFL). The new venture will employ many of the current FFL employees with the aim of achieving a seamless transition going into 2024.

We wish both of them all the best in their retirement and of course, we look forward to continuing working with their excellent team who will be joining our new venture. VFL will expand our presence in this strategic market with a long-term plan of investment in existing and new brand development over the next five years. We are entirely committed to this market, and we look forward to working with and supporting our key retail partners”.
Elizabeth Ross, FFL Sales and Marketing Manager for the past 17 years, will move into the role of Managing Director of the new entity along with most of the FFL team who will join VFL in January 2024. Liz Ross said: “I’m very honoured to have been asked by Mavive to spearhead this new venture and that most of the excellent team at FFL will be joining me on this journey so that we can continue the company’s legacy”.
